Lively Link: The International Bigshot Shares His Thoughts on Design and Sweat Towels
I recently shared that fellow YouTuber “International Bigshot” (AKA Bill) was back in Malaysia. He got here on a European journey through multiple cities, and he will be posting lots of videos from that journey on his YouTube channel starting now:

However, Bill also started an International Bigshot Substack Newsletter, where he can post long-form essays and stories on any topic that interests him. This morning, I saw that Bill had posted his thoughts on a topic that is near and dear to my heart: design.

You can read his thoughts by following the link above. He starts with the simple idea of just buying what he calls a “sweat towel”. And his hunt for a good sweat towel led him to thoughts about design and the relationship between form and function. There are even references to Robert Persig’s “Zen and the Art of Motorycycle Maintenance”, a classic that I love.
The only thing missing was a nod to “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” and how “There’s a frood who really knows where his towel is.”
Check out Bill’s thoughts and tell him I sent you.
