This is a good small meal for lunch, but I am finding that food in Medan is more expensive than elsewhere. For example, this Mie Pancit cost 40,000 rupiah. But in Tanjung Balai, I can get an even better bowl of noodles for 18,000 rupiah and even 12,000 rupiah. I don’t know why food is so much more expensive in Medan.
