Would you consider traveling to the Philippines again? It seems that riding a bicycle is more challenging and less safe than a motorbike. I spent a month there 2 years ago and found my way around by public transport. But I don’t recommend taking the buses there. However, the perk about taking the intercity buses is you can catch them on the side of the highway with a wave. I also used grab bike, or tricycles too but definitely felt at a disadvantage being on foot a lot of the time.
